I'm Rose Campbell Smith, a Scottish historical fiction writer with a passion for uncovering the forgotten stories of Scotland.

My writing is inspired by real places, real events and the ordinary people whose lives have been lost to history. I believe every ruined church, windswept coastline and ancient path has a story waiting to be discovered.

Research is at the heart of everything I write. I travel across Scotland exploring castles, villages, archives and historic landscapes, gathering the details that help bring the past vividly to life. Whether walking the streets of Edinburgh, standing on the shores of Littleferry or exploring the Highlands, each journey deepens my understanding of the people who lived there before us.

My writing has appeared in several anthologies, and I am currently working on my debut historical fiction trilogy, bringing Scotland's forgotten stories and remarkable past to life.

When I'm not writing, you'll often find me by the sea. Surfing and walking Scotland's coastline remind me why I chose the name The Saltwater Storyteller—because the sea has always been a source of inspiration, carrying stories across generations.
